Adding a Folder of Slides to a Powerpoint for Mac Presentation
If you can provide easy-to-follow directions for adding say 73 slides from a single folder to a Power Point for Mac presentation please leave a comment and then shoot me an email with your phone number by e-mail so that I can call you when I need additional help 🙂
Right now I can only add slides one at a time…. I called Tim Grey and he fanned on it…. Not good. Note: Power Point for Mac does not have the Photo Album feature that makes doing what I want to do a snap on a PC. Note also, whatever I have tried allows me to highlight on one image at a time. Please remember, I am on Mac. That is usually a good thing but not in this case.

I know you’ve already accomplished what you want to do and am glad you did!
I’m a Mac person who shows other people’s PowerPoint presentations on my Mac. I convert them to Keynote files which takes about a second. It is much easier to work with on a Mac than PowerPoint and does everything a PowerPoint show can do. If you’re really hooked on Powerpoint, you can export the Keynote file you’ve adapted/created as a PowerPoint file and run it in PowerPoint. P.S. Adding a batch of pics to Keynote presentation is a simple drag-and-drop action.
The easier way to show slides on a Mac, if you don’t need captions, is to drag-and-drop the images into Photos and create a slide show in that app. Very easy.

I think your best approach is to create a Keynote presentation (Apple’s version of PowerPoint) Once you have a new Keynote file with a starter slide, in Keynote, go to View menu and select Light table. Open up a finder window and then folder that contains your 73 images. Position the Keynote window and the finder window beside each other. Select all 73 images and drag them into Keynote and they should automatically create new slides.
Once your Keynote file in created, Choose File > Export to > Powerpoint and you should be good to go!

Many thanks Arni. The reason that I need to keep using PowerPoint is that I need the files to be compatible with denise’s PC. But your solution is indeed an elegant one that would save folks $20. artie

This is very easy to do with Automator. This is an Apple tool that allows you to automate almost any task. Please see the instructions here for creating Powerpoint slideshows automatically from a group of images:

BTW After you download and unzip the Automator workflow I posted, the first time you run it you’ll have to press Control and click the file, then select Open, then click Open again.

I paid, downloaded and installed InsertPicture for PowerPointTM 2011. It took me a while to follow the instructions and at some point I realized that I had paid for, downloaded, installed, and used the exact same program last February. Scary…. artie
