Urgent Help Needed for Gulfport, MS Photo Spot for the afternoon of today, 22 OCT 2020. The Great Road Trip Adventure Begins

What’s Up?

At 4:02am on Thursday 22 October, Anita North and I pulled out of my driveway at Indian Lake Estates and headed for our AirBNB in Gulfport, MS. Google Maps shows a distance of 628 miles. We began packing on Tuesday and had four bags in the Thule Rooftop Cargo carrier before noon on Wednesday. Early to bed as usual for me, I woke early and packed the cooler, our day bags, and our Think Tank Urban Disguise laptop bags. The photo gear is always in the car 🙂

Stay tuned for a formal blog post later today.

I was glad to learn that good friend Greg Gulbransen sold his Nikon 600mm f/4 VR lens for $8796.95 the day we dropped the price $500.00. And I was thrilled to arrange the sale of Walter Barkley’s Canon 600mm f/4L IS II USM lens to Shalin Modi for $6,299.00 before the lens was even listed.

We will be checking in to our AirBNB at about 3pm today. If you know of any good afternoon photo spots in or around Gulfport, MS, please leave a comment or get in touch via e-mail. I imagine that there must be a location or two around with some gulls, terns, and shorebirds. If you live in the area and are COVID-conscious (masks and social distancing), perhaps we could meet this afternoon for a photo session. On Friday we head down to Galveston, TX for three days. Amazingly, I found an AirBNB in the tiny historic city of Anahuac, TX (population about 2200).

On a related note, thanks to the many who e-mailed with Galveston and Rockport bird photography info.

Be safe on the roads my friend and your lady friend! Have a blast! Looking forward to some travel stories and as always incredible photography. Ms. North seems to give you a run for your money when it comes to the pictures of the day! Looking forward with anticipation to enjoy the photos from you both. Keep the masks at the ready and the protein bars handy. Take Care, God Bless! Jeff & Family.

P.S. Hope you voted before leaving. Maybe I’ll send you a few Meme’s!

    Hi Artie,

FYI, the sentence about Mr. Barkley’s lens ends without the price or punctuation.
