Flight Shot!
No electricity; little gas for the generator. Gotta run!
why did u add light to a predominately white bird?
I did not add light to a predominantly white bird. I added light to the metered exposure of the scene to ensure data in the right-most box of the histogram as I always do. It was late in the day and the light was soft. I’d recommend getting a copy of ABP II and studying the Exposure Simplified section.
Hi, Artie. Wonderful image. I spent this morning from just after sunrise to about 9 am photographing least terns nesting and courting on Nantucket; the light and the birds were lovely, the backgrounds not so much. Anyway, I’ve been wanting to thank you for all you’ve taught me; in person, through your blogs, and through your books; and of course through your images. I think about you and your lessons every time I go out with my camera. It often doesn’t show in my images but every once in a while I get one I’d not be embarrassed to show you, but instead I’ll just thank you again here.

I must agree with Chris. This is an angelic, lovely capture of poetry in motion.
One day, one day Artie I will have a clean background such as this, sadly I suspect that we may be both conversing on a much higher plane than Earth when that happens, meanwhile I will continue plugging away.
Lovely is all I will say in comment of this image.
